April 7, 2007 - What's Fair is Fair Fare

It's arrived! The long-awaited Bunny Boogie Egg Hunt and Family Fair, sponsored by my non-profit, to benefit Prevent Child Abuse Nevada!

My entire agency teamed up to bring the community a wonderful event!

I spent the majority of my day as a floater- assisting vendors and giving our staff breaks throughout the day. The highlight- I met the Easter Bunny, Chicken Little, and an interesting Easter Egg. (Since when did an Easter Egg become a character you could meet and speak with? Are kids interested in meeting eggs?)

Now for the food.

You better believe I needed coffee. Starbucks, God love 'em, had free samples of peanut butter chocolate toffee candy. Yes, the perfect breakfast for people that have to work at an event with about 2,000 children in attendance and an Easter Egg hunt with 25,000 eggs!

A couple of energy bars in the morning and afternoon.

I tried some of the food from the vendors. A Chinese restaurant was advertising cream cheese wantons, but they really had veggie egg rolls. Karla ate one for me.

Before the event wrapped up, Krispy Kreme gave me a free dozen donuts. Fresh donuts. Now, when someone hands you a dozen Krispy Kreme donuts, for free, you just take them. And eat them. (Well, one of them at least. You also deperately find people to share them with.)

Later, after Brian finished with his work (one of these years I'm going to rope him into volunteering for me!), we went out to dinner at Chili's. We ordered an appetizer sampler and shrimp and chicken fajitas and just shared everything. Our friend Nick met up with us, so we decided to get some dessert and share that too. It's a magic bar sundae!
